<p>In order to ensure cashewnut farmers are increasingly benefiting from their farming through the ongoing auctions, the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania has asked the farmers to manage the quality of their cashews.</p> <p>The call has been made by the director of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania Mr. Francis Alfred in 18 October, 2024 during the second auction of the main Cooperative Union- TANECU in Tandahimba district in Mtwara region.</p> <p>Mr. Alfred has said that in order to ensure that every farmer benefits from the good price of this season, he should send well-dried cashews to the warehouse because the buyers gives the price according to the quality of the cashewnuts.</p> <p>In that auction, farmers have sold their cashews at a high price of Tsh 3760/= and a low price of Tsh 3540/= for a total of 20335 tons and 417 kilos that has been sold through the Tanzania Mercantile Exchange (TMX).</p>
