Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul, Chair of the Inter-Ministerial Committee, on Monday presided over a high-level meeting to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the National Cashew Policy 2022–2027, focusing on progress, challenges, and measures to strengthen Cambodia’s cashew sector further. The meeting at the Ministry of Commerce brought together vice-chairs and members of the Inter-Ministerial Committee, representatives of the Cambodian Cashew Federation, and provincial governors who joined via video conference. The session reviewed and approved the draft mid-term evaluation report on the implementation of the National Cashew Policy and discussed mechanisms to accelerate and improve the policy execution. Nimul praised the results of the monitoring and evaluation process and commended the strong cooperation among inter-ministerial bodies, relevant institutions, the private sector, and development partners in the cashew sector. She highlighted the notable achievements made over the past two and a half years, noting that the policy has played an important role in strengthening cashew production, processing, and export potential. At the same time, the committee reviewed key challenges facing the sector, held discussions to identify appropriate solutions to enhance policy implementation, and further promote the sustainable development and competitiveness of Cambodia’s cashew industry.
