On February 15, 2025, Silot Uon, president of the Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia, met with visionary Chinese businessmen from Fujian Province, renowned for their successful cashew processing factory in the Kampong Som Special Economic Zone. They mapped out plans for an additional processing facility in Kampong Speu, showcasing a commitment to progress. The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia stands ready to support this endeavor, striving to source quality cashew nuts from its members. With Cambodia’s cashew yield projected to surpass 1 million tonnes within the next five years, the future looks bright as cultivated areas expand each year. In 2024, Cambodia proudly achieved a cashew yield of 850,000 tonnes, with 815,000 tonnes of raw cashew nut exported—an inspiring 21% increase compared to 2023, adding $1.15 billion to the economy. Of these exports, 795,000 tonnes were destined for Vietnam, further strengthening connections and trade.
