Tanzania is set to host the 19th African Cashew Alliance (ACA) Forum from November 18–22, 2025, bringing together more than 500 participants from across the globe. Speaking in Dar es Salaam on Friday, Director General of the Cashew Board of Tanzania, Mr Francis Alfred, said the forum will focus on investment opportunities in the cashew sector, covering the entire value chain from farming and processing to market expansion. The event will also showcase various cashew-derived products. Organized by ACA in collaboration with the Cashew Board of Tanzania and the Tanzania Association of Cashew Processors (TACP), Mr Alfred said the forum will attract key stakeholders, including major cashew-producing countries such as Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Mozambique, Kenya, Zambia, and the Comoros Islands. He also highlighted Tanzania’s progress in cashew production, attributing the growth to government-led initiatives. He revealed that, production has increased from 310,000 tonnes last season to 410,000 tonnes in ongoing auctions, with projections to reach 500,000 tonnes by the end of the current season. The long-term goal, he said, is to achieve one million tonnes of production by 2030, aligning Tanzania with Ivory Coast, the world’s leading cashew producer. Furthermore, Mr Alfred outlined that rising production has also boosted cashew prices, which have increased from 3,188/- per kilogram to 4,195/- in 2024, further strengthening the crop’s competitiveness in global markets. ACA Executive Director Mr Ernest Mintah emphasized that the forum will provide a platform for discussions on investment strategies, research, and innovation in the cashew sector. Held under the theme “Unlocking Investment Opportunities in the Cashew Industry for Sustainable Economic Growth,” the forum will focus on leveraging technology to enhance production and value addition while positioning Africa as a leading supplier of high-quality cashews.
