The president of the Association of Food Industries DES USA (AFI), Robert Paul Bauer, who led a delegation of American agroindustrialists to Toumodi and Yamoussoukro on Thursday March 28 and Friday March 29, 2024, said he was “strongly impressed” by the organization and potential of the cashew sector in Ivory Coast.

The delegation discovered the Dorado cashew factory in Toumodi and completed its mission with the discovery of the Cashew Innovation and Technology Center in Yamoussoukro. “Your potential is truly formidable and I wish you great success,” Paul Bauer said.

American agroindustrialists have generally claimed to have discovered progress in Côte d'Ivoire that does not exist anywhere, notably the center of technological innovations and the dynamism observed on the ground.

The director general of the cotton and cashew council, Dr Adama Coulibaly, maintained that this visit will give a boost to the cashew sector in Côte d'Ivoire.

“Their presence alone sheds light on Côte d'Ivoire in terms of the food industry, sheds light on our processors, our actors in the field of agro-industry. This is why this is not a trivial visit, it is a highly important visit which will allow Côte d'Ivoire to be even better repositioned on the American market.

He particularly praised the success of lobbying by the cotton and cashew nut council which succeeded in moving “crowned heads” of the American industry to Ivorian lands.

“I hope that this visit will benefit our emerging industry which needs to be strengthened on international markets and particularly the American market,” concluded Dr Adama Coulibaly.
