Kani, February 20, 2025 (AIP) – The marketing monitoring and follow-up committee of the cotton and cashew council of the Kani department invited, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, cashew nut buyers to respect the farm gate price set at 425 FCFA by the State of Côte d'Ivoire, during the launch of the 2025 marketing campaign. Prefect Boni Kouakou Adolph, president of the monitoring committee, stressed the importance of respecting this price and warned that offenders would face legal sanctions. "The State, through this price, intends to improve the living conditions of producers. Paying less than 425 FCFA per kilogram is a failure," he said. On behalf of the producers, Méité Namory expressed his pride in seeing the government take such a decision. He urged the council to carry out regular checks to identify dishonest buyers. This will allow for better marketing of products and relief for producers. The cashew nut marketing campaign began across the country on January 18, 2025.
