The general meeting of the cashew processor association of Ratnagiri district was held enthusiastically at the Agricultural Products Market Committee Hall, Ratnagiri. In this meeting, various problems of cashew manufacturers and cashew farmers who are currently facing serious difficulties were discussed in detail. An important proposal was prepared on this occasion with various demands to be presented to the government to overcome these problems and bring the industry back on track. Key demands in the proposal for the cashew industry 1. Local cashew storage : Cashews grown in Ratnagiri district should be stored in the district itself, so that all the manufacturers in the district can operate their factories for at least 10 months of the year. 2. CFC and warehouse system : Creation of modern warehouses and 'CFC' (Common Facility Centre) system at the taluka level. 3. Branding and sales : Branding of high quality cashews from Konkan and setting up a system for their official sale. 4. Goods mortgage loan scheme : Implementation of goods mortgage loan scheme to provide financial support to cashew manufacturers and farmers.
