Cambodian cashew processors are urging expanded access to finance and global markets to boost shipments of value-added products and satisfy strict overseas regulations. The Cambodia Cashew Federation hosted a knowledge-sharing forum in Phnom Penh to address international export standards. During the event, the federation signed a memorandum of understanding with MB Bank Cambodia Plc to strengthen value-chain financing, liquidity and cross-border trade. Industry leaders gathered to examine supply-chain management, food-safety benchmarks and export protocols for the European Union, Middle East, Australia, Japan and China. Ample Agro Product founder An Dara shared export strategies for Jordan and the European Union, emphasising food-safety certifications. Royal Trust Trading chief executive Chhin Sophal outlined premium supply strategies for Australia and Japan. Meanwhile, Kampu Nut Agro Products managing director Hout Hyhaikieng detailed compliance procedures for the Chinese market, including General Administration of Customs registration requirements. Participants underscored that robust financial backing is essential for processors scaling production, upgrading facilities and managing working-capital demands. The initiative aligns with national goals to elevate domestic cashew processing. By reducing raw nut exports, Cambodia aims to capture higher returns and strengthen its agricultural sector.
