The President of the Shippers Association in Oyo State, Mrs Elizabeth Olanrewaju-Nwankwo, has assured cashew and mango farmers in Ogbomoso of increased market opportunities for their produce. Mrs Olanrewaju-Nwankwo gave the assurance at a sensitisation for cashew, mango farmers and other stakeholders in Ogbomoso. Mrs Olanrewaju-Nwankwo, who said efforts were underway to process cashew and mango fruits for exportation, explained that the initiative would reduce post-harvest losses and create employment opportunities for Nigerians. The South-West Zonal Chairman of the Nigerian Port Economic Regulatory Agency, Mr Jelili Sarumi, promised to protect the interests of exporters and importers, particularly in negotiations and port charges. The Director of Oyo State Ministry of Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry, Mrs Modupe Adesina, urged farmers to form groups to facilitate their registration.
