Actors in the cashew industry are unhappy, the reason they accuse the State of hindering the creation of their agricultural inter-professional organization (OIA). On the sidelines of a workshop organized in Grand Bassam by the Cashew Cotton Council on Monday, October 29, 2018, the Director General of the National Federation of Cashew Producers of Ivory Coast (FENAPA-CI) Mr. Salif Tenena Coulibaly expressed his dissatisfaction with the deadlock found in the establishment of the inter-professional organization of the cashew nut (OIA). during a press briefing he facilitated,

Mr. Coulibaly did not wear gloves to openly accuse the state of obstructing the establishment of the interprofessional cashew industry a wish dear to the actors in the cashew sector. Because according to the speaker Mr. Salif Tenena Coulibaly all the actors that make up the cashew industry including producers, processors, exporters, buyers are all ready for the creation of the interprofessional. '' The order 2011-473 of December 21, 2011 taken by the President of the Republic which authorized all the structures to go to the interprofession which is a framework where all the actors of a sector can meet to exchange and be also the interlocutor of the State but since then we train while we want to go to the OIA (...) '' lamented Mr. Salif Tenana Coulibaly on this occasion. "Only the Council of Cotton and Cashew, organ set up by the tutelage (the Ministry of Commerce), can explain to us what creates the blockage. The Council is a regulatory authority, the interprofession is the business of the actors, it should rather speak of the Directorate of professional agricultural organizations (DOPA), it is the direction whose mission is to allow the structures to go to the interprofession '', accused the director general of FENAPACI, loudly proclaiming the failure of the DOPA.

'' If we are not going to the interprofession, for me it is the Dopa that failed and when we fail we must make the apron, if not all the players whether it is the producers, whether the buyers , the exporters, the processors the buyers are all ready to go to the OIA, they know why they are dragging us down will point out DG Salif Tenena. We suffered enough because the order made since 2011 allowed to reform in 2014, in 2015 there were large workshops broke, there was the creation of the Council of cotton and cashew is this same order which authorizes the creation of the Council. the council is created and it had to have a reserve fund, but that was not done, it had to have the interprofession but it was not done, why it is not done? These are questions that must be asked (...) '', added Mr. Salif Coulibaly in his burst of explanation.

He invited, further, the state to let the producers of cashew establish their interprofession. Structure that will allow all players to get together to truly take off the industry.

"The Ordinance of 2011, and the ministerial decree of 2013 clearly say that the interprofession is the business of the actors (...)". Adding that it is thanks to the ordinance of 2011 that the other agricultural sectors such as cotton, oil palm, onion, rubber ... all went to the inter-professional, but why in the case of the cashew nuts do things get stuck? For him the reason is simple. This is because the state wants to control the sector itself because it generates enough money. "I think there is a problem! Is it because our industry generates enough money that the state is no longer looking at the cashew nut sector? the other sectors including cola, cotton, poultry, oil palm, onion went easily to the interprofession why for cashew things are still hanging, there is a problem '', will say the Director General of FENAPA-CI. Before reassuring all actors in the sector that despite all the obstacles created by the State cashew actors will set up their interprofession and this in two weeks. Everything is ready, the texts have already been adopted, reassured Mr Salif Coulibaly, actors in the cashew nut sector. This workshop organized by the Council of Cotton and Cashew (structure of the Ministry of Commerce) was about '' the updating of the roadmap for the establishment of the interprofessional agricultural organization (OIA) of the sector cashew.
