  • Buyer's day: an agro-industrial cashew processing zone soon to open in Bondoukou 01/07/2024

    The director general of the Cotton and Cashew Council, Dr Adama Coulibaly, announced Saturday January 6, 2024, the upcoming opening of an agroindustrial cashew processing zone in Bondoukou, as part of improving the living conditions of populations. For Dr Coulibaly, this infrastructure will induce economic growth in this area for the good of the populations. “This action is part of the development policy which will make it possible in particular to transform agricultural products, create jobs and increase commercial activities. It is a real development pole that we will install in Bondoukou,” a- he said. For the successful completion of this project, he invited stakeholders in the sector to block the leakage of products abroad in order to guarantee continuous supply to processors. “Stakeholders must get involved against the flight of cashews. These products must remain in Bondoukou and not be transferred to the neighbor, so as not to have difficulties in obtaining supplies,” he said, by thanking the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, big patron of the ceremony. “Parents listened to us, with the support of young people who are committed to leading the fight. Young people led the fight. Today, we are at 60,000 tonnes in the Gontougo region and 25,000 tonnes for Bouna” , commented Mr. Adjoumani. Mobilization of players in the cashew sector at the buyer's day in Bondoukou The 4th edition of the cashew buyer's day was organized around the theme of the buyer's contribution to cashew nut processing. It was held in the presence of the Grand Imam of Bondoukou, El Hadj Timité Ismaël Latif, religious leaders, the head of the Pinango province, Nana Adou Bibi 2, and many players in the sector from the 19 producing regions of the Coast of ivory.
