he CASPS cooperative of the Béré region won the 2023 best cashew buyer prize, during a gala dinner celebrating the best players in the sector organized at the Thomson hotel of Bondoukou, Saturday January 6, 2024, in the presence of the Director General of the Cotton and Cashew Council, Dr Adama Coulibaly. Initiated as part of the 4th buyer's day organized by the National Federation of Cashew Buyers and Cooperatives of Côte d'Ivoire (FENACACI), these festivities took place around the theme of the buyer's contribution in the cashew processing. Sékongo Patnanungan from the Béré region obtained the super prize for the best buyer of cashew nuts with 15,618 tonnes in 2023. The best buyer by region for the 19 production zones was also rewarded. Four members of the FENACACI executive board received honorary awards for their work for the development of the sector. Dr Adama Coulibaly insisted on the fight against the cashew nut crop and invited stakeholders to redouble their efforts to raise the torch of this agricultural sector.
