  • Cashew nut processing, Ivory Coast - An issue generating high added value 01/12/2024

    Jan 12th, 2024

The processing of cashew nuts has taken a prominent place in the economic strategy of Côte d'Ivoire. With a total production estimated at more than 1,250,000 tonnes of raw walnuts, the country aims to process more than half of this locally, while the current processing rate stagnates at less than 25%. Although Ivory Coast remains the world's leading exporter of raw cashew nuts and the third of cashew kernels. Côte d'Ivoire's ambition is part of an approach to creating added value focused on the on-site processing of a significant part of its almond nut production. The objective is to diversify the national economy and increase economic benefits at the local level. IVORY CASHEW LLC: A KEY PLAYER IN THE PROMOTION OF CASHEW A pillar of this transformation to achieve the objectives set by the Ivorian Government, the Cotton and Cashew Council, under the leadership of its Director, Dr Adama Coulibaly, plays a major and determining role. As an extension of its action, Ivory Cashew LLC, managed by Mr Losseni Koné, is committed to supporting the Council in the promotion and marketing of cashew nuts in the United States. For several years, Ivory Cashew has made significant efforts to promote “Made in Ivory Coast” cashew kernels on the American market. These efforts are manifested in particular through promotional programs and actions, such as the next convention of the PTNPA (Peanut and Tree Nut Processors Association) scheduled for January 12 to 15, 2024 in Bonita Springs, Florida, in the south the United States. THE PTNPA: A CROSSROAD OF EXCHANGES AND OPPORTUNITIES, A LEVER AND MAJOR PLAYER IN AMERICA’S NUT INDUSTRY This annual convention represents a major opportunity for the industry, offering a privileged space to meet players in the sector, discover trends, news and a broad panorama of the offers proposed and possible commercial exchanges. This forum offers a series of networking events, educational and informative presentations, workshops, conferences with prestigious speakers, as well as an exhibition hall dedicated to industry solution providers. The challenge for Ivory Cashew and its Ivorian partners lies in the effective promotion of “Made in Ivory Coast” cashew kernels and in facilitating its marketing on the American market, the largest consumer of cashew kernels. in the world, followed by India. This participation in the PTNPA convention represents a very important step in the development and export strategy of cashew kernels processed in Côte d'Ivoire. This is an invaluable opportunity to consolidate partnerships, explore new opportunities and strengthen the presence of this product in the global market. Jacques Roger from Florida United States
