<p></p><p>The director general of the cotton-cashew council , Adama Coulibaly , spoke on Thursday in Abidjan, "a slowdown of exports" cashews , of which the country is the world's largest producer, at a forum of the Group of publishers of Ivory Coast (GEPCI).</p> <p> The export of cashew in regression </p><p>"We can not talk about cashew nut sales but rather a slowdown in exports," said Coulibaly, adding that "despite this (slump) Côte d'Ivoire has exported 591,000 tons of cashew nuts in 2018 ".Set at 500 FCFA per kilogram, the cashew nut, the general director of the cotton-cashew council indicated that Côte d'Ivoire exported 614,784 tons in 2017, for an income of 508 billion FCFA to the producers. Regarding cashew export fraud , he stressed that "it is a big concern for us but we are intensifying the fight with the defense and security forces". The cotton sector exported 413,205 tonnes in 2017-2018 compared with 360,000 tonnes in the 2013-2014 marketing year. Adama Coulibaly added that the quality of Ivorian cotton has improved with more than 52% higher type in 2017-2018, against 13% in 2014-2015. The price of cotton is set at CFAF 265 per kilogram for the 2018-2019 season.</p><br><p></p>
