  • 160 jobs created in a cashew processing unit in Daloa

    <p></p><p>Daloa - Some 160 jobs for women and youth are being created in a cashew processing unit set up in Daloa by Ivorians and an American couple to help stem unemployment and unemployment. irregular immigration, said Monday the representative of the International Development Association (IDA) in Côte d'Ivoire, Yao Jean-Louis in an interview with the AIP. </p> <p>"Our strategy is participatory transformation, usually an industry settles in, and the farmers send the products for processing, but in our unit, processing starts from the village, the farmer sends a semi-finished product." said Yao. </p><p>The villages thus participate in the life of the cashew processing unit through small units created in the villages, which employ 90 people. </p><p>The Daloa-based SME plans to export its products to the United States, Europe and India, the representative of the International Development Association (IDA) in Côte d'Ivoire said. </p><p>The world's leading cashew producer since 2015, Côte d'Ivoire is forecasting production of around 750,000 tonnes by 2018. In 2017, it produced 711,236 tonnes of cashews for a forecast of 715,000.<br></p><p></p>
