<p></p><p>Last year the Indian cashew kernel consumption was estimated at around 140000 Tons. This statistics includes both the monthly and the extra festive consumption figures. We think that the extra demand from the Diwali and other Hindu festivals was around 30000 Tons, Ramadan related purchases were around 8000-9000 Tons and Christmas-New year related extra demand was around 4000-5000 Tons in this estimate. Thus the average monthly consumption, excluding these festive purchases, comes to about 8000 Tons. </p> <p>This consumption pattern is not always uniform. Monthly consumption may come down to 5000- Tons in February and March and may increase to 10000+ Tons during the summer months, i.e, in April and May. </p><p> </p><br><p></p>
