  • Vietnam Cashew export exceeds one billion USD

    <p></p><p>In the first 6 months of 2015, Vietnam exported 150,000 tonnes of cashew, export turnover reached nearly 1.1 billion US dollars. Vietnam Cashew Association has put the figure at conferences promoting the production and consumption of it in 2-7 days. Exports that increased by 14% in volume and over 27% in value over the same period last year, while other agricultural commodities such as rice, coffee dropped by 15% and 38% in value. Product quality is uneven, lacking traceability, local firms compete primarily on price rather than product quality, food safety. Vietnam is currently exporting 345 articles. The small production base scale often falls into the household with 5-7 employees, not investment in machinery and equipment synchronized and this is where often no guarantee of food safety. <br></p> <p>Previously, in order to limit the small base, does not guarantee food safety, a number of member enterprises of Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas) make recommendations to the industry that the business is conditional. &nbsp;This idea later encountered opposition from other businesses, saying, this would eliminate the small business. To resolve this dispute, MARD new Circular 14/2011 / TT-BNN provides for the inspection and assessment base business and production of agricultural materials and agricultural products, forestry, aquaculture to control establishments, enterprises producing not guarantee food safety.
