The regional delegation of the Cotton and Cashew Council of Marahoué has initiated, in collaboration with the Pro-cashew structure and the support of the Cashew Interprofessional Organization (OIA), a bulk sale of raw cashew nuts, Thursday, May 4, 2023, in Zraluo, a village in the sub-prefecture of Gohitafla. According to the regional delegate of the cotton and cashew council of Marahoué Djé Bi Albert, this grouped sale of cashew nuts in Zraluo in the sub-prefecture of Gohitafla was initiated as part of the delivery of the stock of initiation to national processing units. Its objective is to help national manufacturers to supply their industries with sufficient products, to accelerate the local processing of cashew nuts and above all to contribute to guaranteeing the farm gate price set at 315 FCFA by the State for producers. The operation also aims to improve the living conditions of farmers but also to encourage buyers to respect the price officially set by the State. The sub-prefect of Gohitafla Yao Kouadio Parfait was delighted with this initiative, considering that it guarantees the price to the peasants against the buyers. We are delighted because this operation guarantees the price of 315 F/kg, which makes 315,000 FCFA per ton. A good financial windfall dedicated directly to cashew producers†indicated Mr. Yao. This operation, which took place in Zraluo, will continue in other localities of Gohitafla and Zuénoula over two weeks and will allow the removal of around 400 tonnes of raw cashew nuts, according to the local representative of the Interprofessional Organization of the Cashew (OIA), Dagou Crépin.
