The regional delegation of the cotton and cashew council of Tchologo has initiated a grouped sale of cashew nuts as part of its campaign to encourage compliance with the farm gate price of cashew, set at 315 FCFA for the 2023 marketing campaign against 305 FCFA in 2022. The operation took place on Wednesday March 29, 2023, in Lassologo, a village in the sub-prefecture of Ferkessédougou. "This type of sale of cashew nuts not only allows producers to sell their production well at the price decided by the government, but also to fight against the leakage of products to other destinations", affirmed the regional delegate of the council of the cotton and cashews from Ferkessédougou, Coulibaly Zié Adamson. According to Mr. Coulibaly, his structure ensures, in collaboration with all the actors of the surveillance committees of the region, good practices in this agricultural sector. The regional director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ferkessédougou, Eboua Jacques N'vodjo, was satisfied with this operation. "The State of Côte d'Ivoire is alongside cashew producers in order to guarantee its first place as the world's leading producer of cashew nuts and thus improve the economic situation of our brave peasants", added Mr. Eboua. More than 60 tons of cashew nuts were grouped together and 40 tons sold in one day, for this operation in Lassologo, it is said.
