In Côte d'Ivoire, the executive announced on March 4 the very imminent opening of a cashew nut processing unit in the commune of Boundiali. Based in the communal village of Tombougou-Samorrosso, the plant will extend over 10 hectares. According to Mariatou Koné, the Minister of National Education and Literacy, it is almost complete and should be the largest in West Africa. This project should generate more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs. As a reminder, Côte d'Ivoire is the 3rd largest cashew processor behind India and Vietnam with 218,000 tonnes of raw nuts processed in 2022.
