<p></p><p> Nguyen Van Chieu, chair of management board in Long An Food Processing Joint Stock Co (coded LAF) announced that in 2012, the company plans to process and exports 35 tons of cashew nut, increasing by 15 tons against 2011. </p><p>In the first three quarters of 2011, the company reported gaining accumulative after tax profit of 52 billion dong, surpassing the targeted year plan by 30 percent. However, in Q4, LAF incurred loss of 41 billion dong, resulting in the whole year after tax profit of 11 billion dong only. </p><p>According to the company's explanation, LAF increased short-term loans for stockpiling the dry cashew nut and plans to sell the products in Q4 of 2011. However, because the cashew price continuously slumped in late September together with pressure of paying debt for the bank and increasing production costs, the company suffered loss in the last quarter of 2011. </p><p> </p><br><p></p>
