  • Turkish economic operators ready to invest in the Ivorian agricultural sector 05/30/2022

    Turkish economic operators reiterated their desire to invest in the Ivorian agricultural sector, Friday May 27, 2022, during an exchange meeting with the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani in his office. The delegation of Turkish businessmen, composed of senior business leaders operating in the healthcare, construction and real estate, food processing, industrial packaging and manufacturing sectors of electrical equipment were received by the Minister of State Adjoumani. The delegation led by the Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to Turkey, Khadidjatou Touré, was an opportunity for the Ivorian side to present the potential of the Ivorian agricultural sector. To this end, the Director General of the Cotton and Cashew Council, Adama Coulibaly, gave an overview of the sector to businessmen and the opportunities available to all investors wishing to engage in the transformation cashew nuts. The Managing Director of Rubber Palm Council, Edmond Fougnigué, explained the opportunities of rubber processing in Côte d'Ivoire. Other opportunities were presented with regard to soybeans, maize and rice since Côte d'Ivoire is a predominantly agricultural country. The Minister of State, Adjoumani, said he was ready to facilitate all investment procedures in the Ivorian agricultural sector for economic operators. “We were in Turkey as part of an exploration mission. Today we are collecting the results of this visit. Our objective in being in this partnership is to allow you to have an exact idea of ​​all that we can do together. We are ready to accompany you to help us,” he promised. The Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development had made important contacts with Turkish businessmen on the sidelines of the third Turkey-Africa Summit in December 2021 in Istanbul. The trade volume between the two countries has increased from $200 million to $650 million so far between 2013 and 2021.
