Even though the price of wet cashew nuts has dropped, the Cashew Nut Association (CAC) has been helping its members for selling products. CAC Country Director Uon Silot told Khmer Times: “The association has attracted some private companies to buy dried nuts. Currently, private companies needs more than 40 tonnes of dried cashew nuts. “Private companies such as Ample, Olam, Akapura, Intersnack, Wellwilling, Chhon Hai Enterprise, Chey Sambo Enterprise and Stung Treng Handicraft are buying dried nuts from us.†He went on to add: “The main buyers are from China and India and they need good quality dried nuts. Buyers from Vietnam buy cheap wet seeds, dry them at the border, refine the quality of seeds and sell them to the factories.â€
