    Bu Gia Map district is a large cashew growing area in Binh Phuoc province, nearly 25,300 ha. Mr. Le Quang Oanh - Chairman of Bu Gia Map District People's Committee said that, along with other industrial crops, cashew is the main crop of Bu Gia Map district in particular as well as Binh Phuoc province in general.Binh Phuoc province has specific strategies to develop the cashew industry sustainably. Material areas are oriented to build concentrated, high quality; forming chains of large-scale cashew production. These are the factors for farmers to believe in the future of cashew. The agricultural sector is also moving towards clean and organic agricultural production for cashews, as well as many other crops. "We advise people not to convert cashew trees to some other crops in a race-season fashion, or with out high value. This easily affects people's income and lives," he said. Mr. Oanh said. According to the Department of Crop Production, from 2007-2015, Vietnam's cashew area continuously decreased from 440,000 hectares to 290,400 hectares. From 2016, cashew acreage tends to recover again. By 2021, the whole country's cashew area will increase to 304,400ha.Binh Phuoc Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that from 2016 up to now, the cashew acreage has not decreased but also tended to increase; from 137,000 ha to more than 140,000 ha.
