The average export price of cashew nuts in 9 months was estimated at $6,237 USD/ton, down 1.5% over the same period in 2020.</p> <p>The leading export market of Vietnam's cashew nuts is the United States, which has recorded many notable points since the beginning of the year.</p> <p>According to statistics from the United States International Trade Commission, in the first seven months of 2021, the United States imported approximately 97.62 thousand tons of cashew nuts, worth $615.68 million, up 0.5% in volume. but decreased by 6.1% in value over the same period in 2020. The United States increased the volume of cashew imports from most of the main sources, but the increase from Vietnam was the lowest.</p> <p>specifically, the US cashew nut imports from Vietnam in 7 months of 2021 reached 87.13 thousand tons, worth 545.88 million USD, up only 0.7% in volume, but down 6.4% in value. prices compared to the same period in 2020.</p> <p>“The Covid-19 wave is complicated, Vietnam has to apply strict social distancing measures on a wide and prolonged basis. In addition, high shipping rates also have a negative impact on Vietnam's cashew exports to the United States," said a representative of the Import-Export Department.</p> <p>Notably, Vietnam's cashew industry faces competition from markets such as Ivory Coast (exports to the US increased by 166.4%) and Nigeria (exports to the US increased by 111.1%), but the market Vietnam's cashew nut share in total US imports still slightly increased from 89.08% in the first 7 months of 2020 to 89.26% in the first 7 months of 2021.</p> <p>This shows that the Vietnamese cashew industry still maintains its position as the number 1 supplier in the United States thanks to its stable supply and guaranteed quality.</p> <p>The Import and Export Department forecasts that cashew nut exports in general will increase in the near future. The fourth quarter is usually the peak season for cashew nut consumption, and markets such as the United States, Europe, and China increase imports. Domestically, the social distancing is being eased, making production and transportation more convenient.</p>
