Laos is currently exporting seven agricultural products to China, including maize, cassava, bananas, rice, watermelon, sweet potatoes and beans, the newspaper quoted Minister of Agriculture and Forestry as saying. The newspaper also said that now Chinese companies investing in Laos have begun to grow many different types of fruit to export to China. As of 2020, a total of 239 Chinese companies have invested US$590 million in the agricultural and forestry sectors in Laos, making the country the largest investor in the agricultural sector in Laos.
