• Cashew: Crop Report (February 2012)

    Feb 3rd, 2012

In India the timely arrival of the new crop is not a cause of celebration as quantity is yet to pick up. Total new crop harvesting in February may not cross 10000-12000 Tons. This is mainly due to lack of interest in cashew farming in most of the early crop areas. Big season may start from March second-third week but large scale processors may not get their daily requirements till the end of March 2012. Vietnamese are now complaining about the world climate change and some delay in their harvesting season but they are highly optimistic on their crop-size.

Even in this unworkable situation, all eyes are on the Tanzanian inventory stock for their immediate requirements and on the Beninese first crop to meet the future requirements.
