    May 10th, 2021

Cashew producers from Niakara (Center-North, Hambol region) expressed, in an interview with the AIP, Saturday May 1, 2021, their gratitude to the Ivorian Government for the enormous financial efforts agreed in order to boost both the quality of the nut and the yield. “The Government, through its technical services, has provided free lighting in our orchards, with the key to removing debris and especially the phytosanitary treatment of our fields during the year 2020”, noted , Saturday May 1, 2021, the manager of a cashew producer cooperative in Niakara, Thibault Koné Kélo, also representing Niakara producers. According to this cashew producer in Niakara, “the State of Côte d'Ivoire has invested 100,000 FCFA per hectare for the felling of trees, considered too large, in order to light all our orchards, but in addition , 25,000 FCFA were still invested in organic products per hectare to treat our fields ”, ie a global financial effort of 125,000 per hectare. “This enormous support for the benefit of producers has extraordinarily helped boost the quality of our cashew nuts, even if the weather conditions this year, below our expectations, unfortunately did not follow for a satisfactory yield in 2021 ″, put into perspective, for his part, a member of a cooperative in Tortiya, Namingonan Ouattara. During the 2021 cashew nut marketing campaign being completed, ”an Out turn of 56 (a measure of the quality of the kernel) was noted in Tortiya, in the department of Niakara, a performance due to the actions of the Ivorian Government in favor of producers ”, said Thibault Koné Kélo.
