<p>Nine states are going to participate in the national seminar on ‘Cashew Development in India — Challenges and Opportunities’ that is being held on February 26 and 27 at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Miramar. The seminar will feature lectures by scientists and academicians from premier institutes like the directorate of cashew nut and cocoa development (DCCD), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Cashew Export Promotion Council of India, Nabard, agriculture and horticulture institutes.These are scientists from Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra,Karnataka, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.The opening lecture on cashew development in India will be by Venkatesh Hubballi at 12pm on February 26.He is the principal scientist at ICAR-Directorate of Cashew ..Lectures by the other eminent personalities will cover technologies for improved cashew cultivation, challenges cashew processing, pest management and improvement in planting the crop, value addition in cashew apple and succes stories of agri-entrepreneurs.
