  • The town of Bondoukou will have an industrial zone for the processing of cashew 07/01/2020

    The government has given its agreement, through a decree adopted Wednesday in the Council of Ministers, for the creation of an industrial zone with an area of ​​64 ha in the commune of Bondoukou, as part of the transformation policy of cashew through the project to promote the competitiveness of the cashew value chain in Côte d'Ivoire (PPCA). Government spokesperson Sidi Tiémoko Touré explained at the end of the cabinet meeting that the objective of the PPCA project, which plans to create favorable conditions for the establishment of cashew processing enterprises, is to , among other things, increase the rate of processed cashews and promote the empowerment of young people and women. According to him, this policy contributes, in general, to the strengthening of structuring infrastructures and responds to the need for the creation of industrial zones in different regions, in order to improve the competitiveness of the production sector throughout the national territory. . The Gontougo region, of which Bondoukou is the capital, is one of the major cashew producing areas with production estimated in 2017 at around 71,000 T, we recall.
