  • Tonnes of almond husks on fire at Mildura processing plant

    <p>The Country Fire Authority (CFA) says a large blaze at an almond processing plant in north-western Victorian is likely to keep burning for several days.About 350,000 tonnes of almond husks caught fire on Thursday night at the Olam processing facility near Mildura.The CFA&#39;s Malcolm Hayes says there is no danger to lives or property but it will take some time to put out.&quot;We don&#39;t believe this fire can be extinguished for a number of days yet,&quot; he said.&quot;We will hope to have it contained by the early afternoon but it will continue to smoulder for a number of days.&quot;It&#39;s very large and it&#39;s going to be a quite complex fire to extinguish.&quot;</p>
