<p>Western Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu has called on farmers in the region to take interest in cashew nut production. Mr. Mubukwanu says farmers should take advantage of the Patriotic Front Government’s policy of economic diversification to explore the cashew nut industry. He said this when he launched the mass distribution of Cashew seedlings to ten districts in the province.</p> <p>Mr. Mubukwanu revealed that the project is targeting to benefit 12,500 farmer farmers during the 2017/2018 planting season. He said President Edgar Lungu does not want people to continue living under the illusion that Western Province was the least developed when Government has provided avenues to change the status quo. And Kalabo District Commissioner Fridah Luhila has praised the provincial administration for providing support to the districts implementing the project. Mrs. Luhila said farmers in her district her more than ready to plant the cashew seedlings this season. And cashew farmer Gobrown Kashumba thanked President Edgar Lungu for choosing the Province to implement the 5 year project.</p>
