  • Ouangolodougou cashew farmers urged to sell their products in Ivory Coast

    <p></p><p>Ouangolodougou- The acting prefect of the department of Ouangolodougou, Yao Kouacou, urged the cashew producers of the department to sell their productions in the country to help the development of the locality. </p> <p>The prefect intervened Tuesday on the occasion of the celebration of the 58th anniversary of the independence of Côte d'Ivoire. According to him, unlike the rising local cotton production, cashew production is declining year by year due to its illegal marketing in neighboring countries. </p><p>&nbsp;"The quantity of cashew nuts marketed in the department is shrinking year by year. Thus, from more than 3000 tons in 2015, 1700 tons in 2016, 1300 tons in 2017, today we have reduced to a production of less than 120 tons. We easily understand that there is a problem, "said the prefect. </p><p>&nbsp;</p> <p>To put an end to this situation, Mr. Yao, in addition to the measures taken by the State, urged the people of Ouangolodougou to show patriotism by selling their productions in the country. "It is through taxes levied on the product that the state initiates its development projects," he insisted</p><br><p></p>
