  • India: Pistachio up on rising festive demand

    <p></p><p>Pistachio prices rose by <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow">`</a> 5 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists following beginning of festive and marriage season amidst tight stocks. (Rs1=$0.02 USD)</p> <p>Pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by ` 5 each to conclude at ` 1,350-1,450 and ` 1,500-1,550 per kg respectively. </p><p>Marketmen said fresh buying by retailers and stockists following beginning of festive and wedding season, against fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices. </p><p>Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): </p><p>Almond (California) ` 19,800, Almond (Gurbandi-new) ` 8,000-8,300; Almond (Girdhi) ` 4,700-4,900; Abjosh Afghani ` 18,000-23,000. </p><p>Almond Kernel (California-new) ` 685-695 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) ` 500-650 per kg. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><br><p></p>
