  • India: Pistachio market strengthens with increased demand

    <p></p><p>Pistachio prices strengthened by <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow">`</a> 10 per kg at the wholesale dry fruits market as of the 29th August, due to increased demand from retailers. (`1 = $0.02 USD) However, other dry fruits moved in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.</p> <p>Traders said besides increased demand from retailers, scarcity of stocks following restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly kept pistachio prices remain up. In the national capital, Pistachio Irani, Hairati and Peshwari were added another ` 10 each to ` 1,230-1,280, ` 1,320-1,370 and ` 1,495-1,570 per kg respectively. </p><p>Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): </p><p>Almond (California) ` 18,200, Almond (Gurbandi-new) ` 8,000-8,200; Almond (Girdhi) ` 4,600-4,800; Abjosh Afghani ` 8,000-22,000. </p><p>Almond Kernel (California-new) ` 635-655 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) ` 500-540 per kg. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><br><p></p>
