<p></p><p>Over 60,000 new jobs will be created in Mongu,Western province with the launch of the new multi-million dollar Cashew Infrastructure Development project.The 50 Million US dollar project will create 30,000 rural women and 6,000 youths engaged in various activities to expand the agricultural project. <br></p> <p>Minister of Agriculture Dora Siliya who launched the project yesterday says government has partnered with the African Development Bank -ADB- who have pumped in 45 million US dollars in the project.Ms. Siliya says the initiative is in line with Government’s renewed commitment to make the agriculture industry the main economic stay of the country. <br></p> <p>And ADB Resident Representative Damoni Kitabire said the Bank provided the funds because it is confident the project has potential to positively transform Zambia’s economy.Mr. Kitabire says the bank will remain a resolute supporter of the country’s economic diversification vision through such projects. <br></p> <p>Meanwhile the Barotse Royal Establishment-BRE- has praised government for striking the deal that will transform the face of the country through job and wealth creation. The Establishment has further pledged to offer more land to the cashew nut project and other projects aimed at reducing poverty in the country.<br></p><p></p>
