  • Tunisian pistachio output likely to decline

    <p></p><p>Harvesting of pistachios in Magel Bel Abbès, Tunisia, is expected to decline by 50% from the 200 tonnes reached last year, according to farmers in the town and commune, which is located in the Kasserine governorate of the country.Kasserine as a whole is the largest producer of the nut in the North African country.One producer in Magel Bel Abbès said: "This unexpected decline was mainly due to the severe storm experienced by the region on May 11 and ineffective herbicides...<br></p><p></p>
