The Andalusian Nuts Working Group, formed by the organisations AEOFRUSE, ASAJA Andalusia, COAG Andalusia, UPA Andalusia and Cooperatives Agroalimentarias of Andalusia, has recently announced its estimations for this season's almond harvest. Overall, in all producing provinces, there has been a good flowering and settling, although the wind and lack of rainfall has affected some areas.

By provinces, Granada still has a noteworthy position, with a good harvest in most areas, although affected by pests in some northern regions. It is expected to harvest about 6,500 tons. In Almeria, due to the effects of droughts in different regions, the harvest will be average. The lower rainfall will cause a reduction in the product's weight, thus reducing the province's production volumes, which are estimated to reach around 3,100 tons. In Malaga a good harvest is expected across the entire province, although the wind and lack of rainfall has affected some areas. The production will be estimated to reach 1,200 tons, almost doubling last season's figures.

Other Andalusian provinces expect a very good harvest, except for Huelva, where mists had a negative effect on settling and the production has been estimated to reach 2,200 tons.

Spain's domestic production will almost reach 48,890 tons, representing an increase of 75.78% compared to 2013 and 16% over the average of the past five seasons. Production volumes will increase in all regions except Murcia and the Balearic Islands, where droughts have caused a significant impact.
