<p>The Tanzanian government has donated 25 metric tonnes of cashew nut seeds to ZAMBIA that will improve cashew production in Western Province. Speaking during the handover ceremony, Tanzanian high Commissioner to Zambia Hassan Simba Yahya says his country stands ready to create strong ties with Zambia in enhancing cashew production. Mr. Yahya who spoke on behalf of Tanzanian President, Dr. John Magufuli pointed out that cashew infrastructure development once embraced would transform the economic status of Western province. </p><p>The Ambassador said cashew nuts was being fetched on high price at international market hence the need for mass production of the crop. He disclosed that Zambia is on a top agenda in receiving technical support from Tanzanian government towards revamping of cashew nut sector in Western Province.</p> Western Provincial Minister Richard Kapita who received the 25 metric tonnes of cashew nut seeds on behalf of President Edgar Lungu thanked the Tanzanian government for strong integration between the two states. Meanwhile, Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) representative Ngambela Mukela Manyando has conveyed gratitude message to both Tanzanian and Zambian Presidents for considering giving 25 tonnes of cashew nut seeds to Western Province. Mr. Manyando has since implored people in Western Province to take cashew growing serious. <br><p></p>
