<p> A cashew nut purchase operation was launched on Friday in Sapli-Sepingo, a town 40 km from Bondoukou (North-East, Gontougo region) at the field price of 400 CFA francs set by the State of Côte d'Ivoire for the 2020 campaign.<br><br>This operation, which took place in the presence of the Sapli-Sepingo sub-prefect, Eddy André and the traditional local chiefdom, is an initiative of the Exporters' Economic Interest Group agricultural products professionals (GIE-GEPPA) with the support of the Cotton and Cashew Council (CCA).<br><br>It aims to remove cashews from storage stores in several localities in the department of Bondoukou in order to enable farmers to cope with the Coronavirus disease which has slowed down activities linked to the marketing of cashew nuts. .<br><br>According to the president of the Cooperative society of agricultural producers of coffee, cocoa and cashew of Bondoukou (SCOOPACAB), Ayié Alain, also member of GIE-GEPPA, it is also, through this operation, to fight against crooked buyers who buy the product at prices below that fixed by the Government.<br><br>"The Government has seen fit to boost the marketing of cashew and stimulate it by maintaining the price at 400 CFA francs to support our producer parents as well as the development of the region and the country," he said, inviting producers to be patient and trust the state authorities.<br><br>The president of the cooperative society "Gbagboton" of Sapli, Dua Kobenan, welcomed this initiative of the Government which relieves the peasants. He indicated that the income linked to the marketing of cashew in the village made it possible to carry out many infrastructures, in particular the construction of the sub-prefecture and the residence of the sub-prefect as well as the rehabilitation of the health center and primary school. <br></p>
