  • Togo: cashew nuts, the Minister of Agriculture's appeal to stakeholders

    <p></p><p>The Minister of Agriculture of Togo, concerned. Koutéra Bataka met this week with the various players involved in the marketing of cashew nuts. A meeting which enabled him to send a frank message to his interlocutors. The priorities and challenges of this sector were addressed. The prices were also standardized for the 4th edition of the cashew nut marketing campaign. This is to preserve the interest of the sector and its players.</p> <p>The Togolese Minister of Agriculture recalled that cashews are a significant source for the country's economy. In this regard he urged them to be more diligent. "I urge the actors to cultivate &nbsp;nderstanding, the union for the sustainable development of this promising sector" , he added. </p> <p>Thus, the price bordered on the field retained by all the actors of the five families of the sector is 325 FCFA per kg. The price of a poly clonal plant is equal to 300 FCFA and the grafted plant is equal to 550 FCFA.</p> <p>The chairman of the board of directors of the Interprofessional Council of the cashew sector of Togo, Komlan Mawuko Gozan took the opportunity to recall that "Offenders will be penalized by the law in force, in particular interministerial orders regulating the marketing of cashew nuts and its derivatives in Togo ”</p><p></p>
