Brazil's national statistics institute IBGE slashed its 2013 harvest forecast for cashew nut production in December to 138,474 tonnes, down 46.20% from its previous forecast of 257,390 tonnes in November.Despite this dramatic downwards correction, Brazilian cashew nut producers are still expected to harvest 82.07% more cashew nut kernels than in the drought-ridden 2012 when output fell to just 76,054 tonnes.
