<p>The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and AngloGold Ashanti Mining Mining Company of Guinea (SAG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Conakry the day before yesterday on the $ 3 million financing for the project. Today, we have local varieties that do not have a great yield .</p> <p>The long-term goal of this project is also to make the mining sector a catalyst for the development of other sectors such as agriculture. The cashew processing plant will therefore be the second in the country following the formalization last February of a first unit (Read: First industrial unit processing cashew in Guinea ).</p> Cashew production in the country is 70,000 tons and is expected to increase to 220,000 tons by 2025 through the government seed support and distribution program. The development of cashew culture is one of two presidential initiatives, alongside coffee, launched since 2016. <br><p></p>
