  • Making Cotton Cashew industry "second teat of the Ivorian economy," next challenge for the CC Council

The there has been a decline in yield and 80% of production is not of good quality. The objective in production for next year is 500,000 tons, while indicating that the current production is estimated at 450 000 tonnes. According to President Sanogo Malamine the ultimate goal is to move from third place at the African level to the first in the near future. <br></p> <p>The reform foresees the zoning, which is to "contain spaces each ginner to reassure the responsibility and give the necessary guidance in order to have a good performance. Also improve the living and production of farmers. The objective in fine of the reform, said the President Sanogo Malamine is to allow the producer to be the first beneficiary of the sector. The growth rate at the cotton cashew sector is between 10 and 15%. Alongside the cocoa, cotton, cashew sector contributes to 5% of the national wealth. It intends in the coming two years, participating for 10% of national wealth.<br></p><p></p>
