<p>The State president of the CITU-affiliated Kerala Cashew Workers Centre (KCWC), J. Mercykutty, along with 10 women cashew workers will begin an indefinite fast in front of the State Secretariat from December 2 to press for the demand of reopening the cashew factories of the public sector Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation. At a press conference here on Tuesday, KCWC general secretary E. Kasim said that on December 4 cashew workers will march to the Secretariat. He said that by keeping the 30 factories of the KSCDC closed, the State government was facilitating the exploitation of the workers of these factories by the private sector processors.<br></p>
