<p>During the first six months of 2015 about 24,000 metric tons, to the value of 269 million Euro, was imported to Germany. And the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) continued to state that the average import price for hazelnuts doubled to 11.28 Euro per kilo in the first six months of 2015 compared to the same period in the previous year (5.54 Euro). Most of the hazelnuts imported to Germany come from Turkey (17,000 metric tons), followed by Italy with 4,300 metric tons. Georgia is developing as a strong trading partner for hazelnuts (1,500 metric tons in the first half year of 2015). That means that the imported volume of hazelnuts from Georgia has doubled compared to the same period (January-June) of the previous year.<br></p>
