ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hailakandi under ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, organized a day long programme on cashew cultivation at extension training centre (ETC), SIPRD, Boalipar, Hailakandi, today. The programme aimed to test the performance of the crop at the Hailakandi district and was conducted under AICRP on the Cashew-NEH component for the evaluation of the performance of cashew varieties at the farmers’ fields of Hailakandi district.
Shri Sanjeeb Singha, Principal, SIPRD, Hailakandi graced the programme as the chief guest.
A total of 350 numbers of cashew-grafted planting materials (varieties: V-4, V-7 & K-22-1) were distributed among the beneficiaries.
About 32 officials and shareholders from 5 Farmers’ Producer Company Ltd. (FPC) of Hailakandi district, namely Hailakandi FPC, Algapur FPC, Bakrihawr FPC, Auxo Agro FPC and Manipur FPC were present in the programme.
