Permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Vongsey Vissoth, paid an official visit to the MIRARTH Agri Tech cashew processing factory in Trapaing Araek village, Chey commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province on Saturday. He was accompanied by Kampong Thom Provincial Governor Nuon Pharath during the tour of the Japanese-owned facility, which has become a key player in Cambodia’s growing agro-industrial sector. Factory representatives briefed the delegation on the facility’s two-stage cashew processing chain, emphasizing its commitment to international food quality standards. The factory currently processes 3 tons of raw cashew nuts per day and aims to reach an annual output of 1,500 tons by the end of 2025. Of the total output, 70 tons are set for export to Japan, while 30 tons will be distributed within the domestic market. The company has also engaged in negotiations with four international business partners from Canada, Korea, Japan, and Thailand to further expand its export footprint. At present, the facility—operating under the Chey Sambor brand—focuses on producing M23-grade cashew nuts, with 15 distinct variations of the M23 category available. The visit underscores the government’s continued support for foreign investment in agricultural processing and its role in enhancing value-added exports from Cambodia’s farming sector.
